Begin Here: Introduction: Where are the steppers located?

Dash Loosening The official recommended method is "dash loosening". While it falls short of full removal of the dash (fascia) from the vehicle it does require considerable time to remove components and pull the dash a few inches away from the firewall. Cut Glovebox Wall (LHD)   An alternative for left-hand vehicles is to remove a section of the wall inside the glovebox and access the steppers through that hole. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

Through Firewall (RHD & LHD) An alternative for the air distribution stepper only if the air conditioning has already been removed for servicing. Firewall

Glovebox Hole & Access behind Instrument Panel or Firewall (RHD) Our section on this is not yet constructed, however much of the Cut Glovebox Wall (LHD) section is useful. Note that in RHD models the steppers are in two locations - one through the glovebox and one behind the instrument cluster. The Dash Loosening section is also useful as many of the photos are of a RHD model.
