AlfaPro Alfa Romeo 164 Stepper Gears

Stepper Gears: Alternative Access, Left Hand Drive - Part 3

[Steppers Access (Index)] [Access Introduction] [Part 1] [ Part 2]

The bracket is held to the vehicle by three screws. This view is from the right hand side of the bracket, the side from which the screws are accessed.

The rear screw is the most difficult to remove. Remove the rear stepper and you will be able to see it. A close tolerance offset Philips-head screwdriver is required. Good lighting and possibly a small mirror on a rod will be useful.

Don't lose the nylon piece behind the bracket that fits with the distribution stepper.

If you're not removing the metal bracket these views might be helpful.

This is looking at the front (temperature) stepper from the right hand side.

It is unclipped from the bracket in the same way as the other stepper.

When removing or replacing the front (temperature) stepper you must align the shaft in the middle like this.
