Keys, Alfa Romeo 164: Making a Master from a Valet

It's possible to make a master key (one which will open and lock the trunk/boot and the glovebox) from a valet key (which only operates the door and ignition locks).

There's one simple difference between the two kinds of keys: the master has some metal removed from the key. With a Dremel or similar small tool you can grind this metal off a valet key and it will function as a master key. The amount removed is very small. Also make sure the ridge at the tip of the key is rounded and smoothed.
