Replacing cam-hub o-rings
Leaking oil from the cambelt hubs? It could be a leak from old and squashed o-rings or oil seals located just inside the cam belt hubs. (The same o-ring is also located inside the distributor shaft). Dealers usually say the engine must be jacked up, covers etc. removed, to do this job (costing several hours of a mechanic's time). However there is an easier and quicker way, leaving the engine untouched and requiring only a few hours of your time. The catch? You need some very specific tools, which however can be homemade. Follow the links to see what's involved.

Making a master
from a valet key:
instructions

AR 164 (and maybe others...). Making a master key from a valet key
Lost your master key (the one which opens the glove box and trunk)? Or taken a master key to copy only to discover that they can only make a valet copy (won't open trunk or glove box)? Either buy a new set of blanks from us (Keys4Classics), or modify one of your own keys. Here's how to modify a valet key into a master in about 10 minutes (requires a miniature grinding wheel e.g. Dremel tool).

Rear of Engine
FUEL HOSES

Replacing fuel hoses behind the V6 engine
Persistent fuel smell in the cabin? Perished fuel hoses behind the engine could be the cause - and also a fire hazard. John Wiltshire directs you step by step through this "impossible" replacement job. Well, not impossible but downright tedious!

Air Conditioning
BLOWER MOTOR

Repairing the air conditioning blower motor
Accessing and restoring the 164's air-con blower motor back to health. John Wiltshire's extensive guide to this procedure and some tips on other jobs to do while you've got the airconditioning out of the vehicle.
