Replacing cam-hub o-rings
Leaking oil from the cambelt hubs? It could be a leak from old and squashed o-rings or oil seals located just inside the cam belt hubs. (The same o-ring is also located inside the distributor shaft). Dealers usually say the engine must be jacked up, covers etc. removed, to do this job (costing several hours of a mechanic's time). However there is an easier and quicker way, leaving the engine untouched and requiring only a few hours of your time. The catch? You need some very specific tools, which however can be homemade. Lost your master key (the one which opens the glove box and trunk)? Or taken a master key to copy only to discover that they can only make a valet copy (won't open trunk or glove box)?
